About Crystal

Crystal Milner recently graduated from Boston University with a Master of Science degree in journalism. Her work focuses on the representation of marginalized people through photojournalism and social justice journalism. She is currently a member of the National Association of Black Journalist. Through her work and volunteering, Crystal seeks opportunities to bridge disparities in undeserved communities. Prior to attending Boston University, she taught and mentored the students of Pomona Unified School District, emphasizing the importance of college and life skills. Preaching daily, “If you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready.” She also interned for ABC7 Eyewitness News where she worked closely with with the producer and cameraman for the segment, “Eye on L.A.” In 2014 Crystal interned in Santiago, Chile for three months. She worked as a photojournalist for Mujeres del Pacífico where she created a comprehensive blog that included photos and captions about women entrepreneurs across Chile. Crystal earned her Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Northern Arizona University. She is originally from California.
